So that’s that then. The Pandorica opened and closed, trapping the Doctor within it. Rory’s an Auton, Amy’s dead, River and the TARDIS have gone boom, and all universes have ceased to exist. Bugger. Steven Moffat has said in interviews this week that tonight’s episode will simply be light music and a note of apology [...]

And so, after five series of retro tunes and outfits, mysterious visions and crimes of the week, the Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes sage finally ends tonight. If you were asked about the cult/sci-fi TV you were excited about seeing in 2010, I imagine, like me, names like Doctor Who, Ashes to Ashes and Being Human would be high on the list (maybe even Lost for those who are still keeping up. But I can’t think Heroes or Survivors would have made [...]

THE LOWCULTURE VERDICT How did tonight’s new episodes of Heroes and Law and Order: UK fare, then? Did they meet, or even exceed, my fairly humble expectations for them? Law and Order: UK was a curious concept for me. I haven’t seen its US counterpart(s), so I can’t tell what was part of the format [...]
