The Apocalypse has arrived

Chelsea HandlerThe Mayans were a bit off with their calculations, the world won’t end in 2012, it’ll end tonight. The planets have aligned, the stars are going into hiding and in Russell. T. Davies speak ‘The darkness is coming’. Etc etc. Or possibly it’s just an episode of Chelsea Handler.

In reality, the gods over at E! have finally trained professional drunk Jewess Chelsea Handler up sufficiently and are (finally) letting her take on someone far funnier than herself. And this time there’s no mystery illness that can save her. Kathy Griffin is coming, and she’s coming hard. Fnar.

Star of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, the Queen of the Gays would probably seem the ideal guest for Handler, but with her fierce put downs and lightening fast wit, Griffin might just outclass her. And we all know that Chelsea doesn’t enjoy being outclassed. Why else would she have half the panel guests that she does? I’m talking about you John Caparulo.

Admittedly, this is mainly for the Americans, because E! In the UK seem completely incapable of having something vaguely resembling a schedule on their channel. Instead they apparently just have a big barrel of VHS tapes and every day one lucky employee gets to plunge their hands into the bucket, pull out a tape and hurl it at the machine. Which is why we’ve all been subjected to Chelsea Handler interviewing Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross several million times, mostly sandwiched between the whores Girls of the Playboy Mansion or the sex-tape-tastic Kardashians.

  • Chelsea Lately, Weekdays, 11pm (allegedly), E!.
