DOCTORDONNA! the Sunday Night Project, Channel 4, 10.00pm
The Friday Sunday Night Project is one of those slightly curious phenomena. Some weeks it’s absolute must-see television, with some jaw-droppingly good moments. Other weeks it’s so painful you’ll want to hide behind the sofa. Its success or failrue largely depends on the host. As Billie Piper, David Tennant and John Barrowman all proved to be decent hosts, I have high hopes for tonight’s guest presenter, Catherine Tate.
Catherine generally comes across as a warm person who’s up for anything, and we all know that she’s funny, so this could be a very entertaining hour indeed. Amongst the sketches, we’re promised Alan, JLC and Catherine taking on Lady GaGa, Alan doing schoolgirl Lauren (she of ‘am I bovvered fame’) and Catherine doing David Tennant’s Doctor. Seeing as she already played that part brilliantly when being the DoctorDonna, this should be a reeal treat.
However, I’m going to have my tissues ready because I expect it’s going to make me blub for the third time about the sad fate of Donna Noble…
