HEAT! Hell’s Kitchen USA, ITV2, 9.00 and 10.00pm
Gordon

This series of Hell’s Kitchen USA has been rather entertaining, certainly more so than its dreary ITV1 celebrity counterpart, and yet it’s been shunted away on a Monday night on ITV2, with little publicity. This is a shame, because it’s a nice format, with some great contestants.

Tonight’s two part finale sees Petrozza up against Christina for the prize of winning a job as executive chef in Gordon Ramsay’s LA based restaurant, ‘London’. Petrozza is one of the older contestants and has worked in catering for years. He isn’t flashy, but is one of those who gets on with the job without bitching or fussing. Of course, he does make monumental fuck ups from time to time but he’d probably be a steady pair of hands. He was also the only male contestant who was any cop in a series with lots of strong women.

Christina is much younger and more inexperienced, but she has enthusiasm and fits the mould exaclty of the type of person that Ramsay likes to win this thing. She won the individual cookery challenges nearly every week and then tended to lose it in the main service – can she be trusted?

Tonight the two finalists create their own style of restaurant, and it’s time for the Apprentice style return of all the previous contestants. Will the bitter, bitchy likes of Matt and Jen scupper the final?
