PREGGERS! Love The Place You’re In, UKTV Style, 10pm

Viewers! Is your house a complete tip? Are you completely depressed that the imminent collapse of the entire global financial system means that selling your house and moving to a nicer one is impossible? Or maybe you’re one of those bizarre individuals who would just like your house to be a nice place to live, rather than a magnolia-coated ‘investment’?

Fear not, for none other than Zoe Lucker from Footballers’ Wives is here to help with her ‘don’t move, improve’ show, Love The Place You’re In! It has to be said that Zoe herself doesn’t really do that much, except pop in from time to time looking increasingly more pregnant and wearing even less clothes, perhaps in a bid to usurp Sarah Beeny as Most Pregnant Lady in Property Programming.

I get where they’re coming from, but the solutions aren’t particularly thrifty: last week a lady spent about £6000 getting her flat re-plastered, which is quite a lot of money really. However, by far the most interesting aspect of last week’s episode was how the presenters, and even home-owners, progressively outdid one another on the tight clothing front. The bloke from Changing Rooms who is actually doing all the graft looked like he’d put all his shirts in a boil wash and at one point Zoe’s dress was so small it was almost possible to see the baby’s head straining against her cervix. No wonder she’s a national treasure.

Anyway, who doesn’t love seeing someone’s messy house get redecorated in questionable taste? Therefore, it’s an enjoyable show and tonight’s episode looks back on previous projects. A minor gripe, but aside from the fact that the fee would be greater than the entire budget of the show, it’s still disappointing that the producers haven’t re-jigged ‘Love the One You’re With’ as the theme tune.
