CATARACTS? Harry Hill’s TV Burp, ITV1, 6.55pm
Quite possibly the only thing wrong with Harry Hill’s TV Burp is that it isn’t on all year round. I know that’s an unreasonable request, given the amount of time that must go into putting the show together and researching all of the clips, but TV just isn’t the same without it. I find myself constantly watching something ridiculous and thinking “I can’t wait for Harry Hill to make fun of this on Saturday”, only to remember he’s not on at the moment.
But! Fret not more, because Harry is back, and for an amazingly long run (I can’t remember exactly how many, but it’s something in the realm of 26, I believe, which is pretty much half of what I was asking for in the first paragraph). At least this shows that ITV’s finally treating this programme like the crown jewel we all realised it was ages ago, and it means we can indulge in an extended period of trying to second-guess during the week which programmes/scenes are in for a good ribbing on TV Burp at the weekend.
So, what can we look forward to this year? With it being filmed so close to transmission, the content is being kept tightly under wraps, but frankly after the discussion on the forums this week, I for one will be hugely disappointed if Harry doesn’t at least mention in passing the bizarre CGI pigeons on Hollyoaks…
